January 12th, 9:00-4:00 PM
American Clay Plaster; a beautiful and ecological interior wall finish that is easy to apply with the proper know-how. Come to greenspace and learn from the best. Orit Yanai, a highly regarded plaster expert, will be on hand to walk you through the benefits, preparation, and application, and finishing of this beautiful product. Orit's work can be seen all over California and abroad, and she has been featured in Sunset Magazine.
Cost: $235.00.
Bring a trowel or purchase one at greenspace.

Green Drinks, Cool Ideas
January 25th, 6:00-8:00 PM
Featuring: Jonathan Trent, Santa Cruz-based scientist and head of the NASA GREEN Team! The GREEN Team is a group of NASA and non-NASAscientists, engineers and educators exploring Global Research into Energy and the Environment at NASA (GREEN). Their goal is to determine how the tools and expertise developed for the exploration and colonization of space can be applied to problems on Earth. In addition to NASA's Earth science programs, can lessons learned from life support, astrobiology, planetary science, systems engineering and aerodynamics be applied to energy and environmental problems? Do we need a new "Apollo-like Program" to focus attention on these problems?

Derived from the thick leaves of the Sisal Agave, Sisal is an annually renewable resource with a multitude of useful products such as paper, rope, and carpets. Sisal plants are grown without the use of pesticides and commercial fertilizers, and require little herbicidal input.
